Collaborative Project: Exploring Queer Visibility and Gender Expression
In Collaboration with Artist Inbal Cohen Hamo
We have created a compelling body of work that explores themes of queer visibility, fantasy, and gender roles—each drawing from our own unique life stories and perspectives.
Project Origins
This project emerged from the curiosity and exploration of both artists. Inbal Cohen Hamo is the mother of a transgender young man, and through his transition process, she has experienced and documented this journey as an artist. This profound experience has led her to examine her own questions about gender identity and continue exploring societal roles and the boundaries of gender freedom.
Uri Martha is an artist and genderqueer individual who navigates the gender spectrum, examining the boundaries and expressions of queerness and gender performance through creative practice.
Creative Process:
The encounter between Inbal as the photographer and Uri Martha as the performer creates a dynamic space for experimental and free exploration. Together, we delve into the meaning of gender and its diverse manifestations, challenging conventional boundaries and celebrating the fluidity of identity.
Through this collaboration, we invite viewers to witness and engage with questions of visibility, authenticity, and the beautiful complexity of gender expression in contemporary society.
