Art is life. Life is art. Our partnership dates back to 2009. Art emerges from the dynamics between us, flowing from within our collaboration in an endless cycle of mutual influence. Our encounters with the world and conversations become starting points for creation, with daily life serving as potential raw material for art. Through our interaction as artists of different genders, we explore relationships between the sexes and examine possibilities for gender equality while working to break free from masculine bias. We make art to make present the "both/and" rather than dichotomies, rejecting binary oppositions like good or bad, woman or man, cooperation or competition. Our works search for diverse expressions of femininity and masculinity—identities not confined by historical stereotypes. Sometimes we place a masculine body within feminine language to think about femininity while avoiding conceptions historically embedded in the female body. The female body serves as a tool for reimagining different femininities, while the masculine body enables exploration of new modes of masculinity. Through our collaboration, we explore relationships between identity, body, gender, and language, asking how to rethink artistic identity beyond historical limitations. We work not at the extremes but within the continuum between them. Our art manifests across diverse media—performance, sculpture, installation, video, and photography—combining technologies from electronics and computing to sewing, embroidery, and weaving.
