Eco-Tronica workshop for kids, Ashkelon

Between 2011 and 2016, the Tzzazit Ensemble held workshops in various communities. Sometimes these were relatively short encounters, and sometimes they were long-term processes.
In the meetings between the artists and community members, Meizzazim* were created—moving sculptures made from engine parts and various objects, which were usually also presented in a final exhibition.
Behind this creative process stands the idea that any person, of any age and background, can undergo a process of learning and personal exploration and express their world in a creative way.
The encounter between the artists and the group is a non-hierarchical one, based primarily on mutual listening that enables creative freedom.
The exhibition at the end of the workshop also allows for an open and accessible artistic experience, intended for all members of the community and not only for traditional “art enthusiasts.”
The workshops took place in various locations:
“Pe'ila” Jaffa, Art Center Ramle, Jerusalem WBC, Tel Aviv, Berlin, Kibbutz Be’eri, Jesse Cohen (Bat Yam), and more.
*"Meizazim" is a term created by Eili Levy
